Helicopter day at Ballymoney 6th July 08

The weather forecast for the day was terrible but we had the BBQ ready and the Gazebo was up if only 2 sides to prevent it from turning into a kite so we decided to go ahead. The weather actually held up quite well and lots of flying took place, quite a few spectators turned up and some from other clubs but the only other club members apart from BMFC members that flew were Alastair Henry and Matthew Poots from the Banbridge club, and they both flew a Titan of Alastairs and both flew really well Mathew thought it was a little to windy for his small electric heli. Mathew also gave us a demo with his evo powered CAP and it was an immaculate and impressive flight as usual from him. Thanks to you both from all at BMFC it's great to see you coming all the way up to Ballymoney when the weather looks like it may force a no fly.
Archie had the BBQ on and at 2.00pm he served up an absolute cracker of a meal, his BBQs' are quickly making him a legend and he also made time for a quick flight with his Raptor.
Alwyn Clarke was on fire as with his Synergies and showed everyone why he is the current 3DX Ireland Champion, Alwyn is supported by climb-out in what I would call a level one sponsorship and this has been much appreciatted by Alwyn over the last year and he would like to use this opportunity to thank Roger, and I would like to use this article to encourage any other sponsors to come forward and and put some support behind this exciting pilot who has done absolutely incredible things over the last two years.
The day was not without its' mishaps Clifford Wallace had a whoopsie with a Knight 50 and Colin Fullerton put his Align 600 electric in but both will fly again. Clifford also test flew Alan Gbsons Augusta 109 which looked awesome in the air, it needs a few things sorted before it is fitted out with a colour scheme.
A few photos follow but I spent most of the day behind the cam corder and eating so check out the videos page and I still have some to render and upload.
Everyone I have spoken to enjoyed the day even if it was a little stormy.
