Ballymoney Members Competition Achievers in 2008

It is only June but members of Ballymoney have already been notching up some great results in competitions. Andrew Wallace won his class at the indoor event in Dungannon earlier in the year, Clifford Wallace and Richard McMaster also taking part.

Then the 3DX Ireland 2008 event took place in Tipperrary with the Ballymoney contingent being transported and supported by Colin Fullerton his people carrier and caravan and assisted by club member Eneas Rainey, the two of them loaded up on the Thursday night with helicopters, equipment etc etc Oh! and they also took Alwyn Clarke and Clifford Wallace who were competing, David Walker travelled down with Ballymena club member David Drummond who was also competing.
Alwyn won the event Clifford was 5th David Walker 10th and David Drummond who was taken in by the Ballymony boys for the weekend came 6th.
Well done guys a great effort and a big thanks to Colin and Eneas for all there support and help, Colin also provides natural gas in great quantities so I am told :)

On the 8th of June Ballymoney handed over the flying field to the Banbridge Club to host the first round of the revamped NIAA and the weather was kind to us, a good entry and plenty of spectators all made for a great day and we at Ballymoney provided a wee bite for lunch.
Richard McMaster of Ballymoney flew brilliant and won the the Clubmans event and Andrew Wallace was 4th in the Intermediate class with his brother Clifford 4th in Clubmans not bad considering he hasn't flown a plane for about 3 months as he had been concentrating on the 3DX
The members are doing great this year and I must mention the support and encouragement they get from the rest of the club, notably from the chairman Robert Wallace who is no stranger to competing himself having in past held the area fun fly championship for 3 years in succesion and a past winner of the area scale championship.
