.............................Heliday October 08............................
We gathered together for the Heliday after postponing it for two weeks, a good decision as we were rewarded with good weather. A good crowd of members and visitors arrived, some of us who had arrived early were treated to a fry up prepared by Big Davy Walker. A lot of flying took place and Archie put on an excellent lunch which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone, and if anyone went home hungry it was there own fault. All in all it was a great event and I would like to Thank all involved and my Belly would like to Thank Big Davy Walker and Archie Anderson for the superb cuisine.

Letterkennys finest young talent get ready to fly

Shane McGirr from Letterkenny on the strip.

Spotted in the pits this immaculate raptor (wonder who owns it)

Jimmy Powers' best side.

We stayed till dark and put the heating on.

Eddy the eagle made a guest appearance at the Heliday being examined by our visitors from England

Robert explains the technical bits, like feathers and beak etc.

Buzzards have been spotted so eddy is launched

Once up the Buzzards called to Eddy so over he went and Andrew Wallace(an experienced glider pilot)
who was in control of Eddy was able to turn off the motor and thermal up with them. It was an amazing sight
as the buzzards accepted eddy an let him fly with them. The above photo shows Eddy with two of the buzzards
it was a long way up and I was at maximum zoom and Eddy is in mid frame I think.
At times we had to ask Andrew which was Edddy as it was so convincing.

He told me this was his Hirobo Sceadu 50. Strange it has changed a lot since I sold him it!!!!
